How can esports players develop and maintain positive emotions?

Esports players can develop and maintain positive emotions by engaging in activities that they enjoy, finding meaning and purpose in their esports participation, expressing gratitude and appreciation for their achievements and opportunities, celebrating their successes and learning from their failures, and cultivating positive relationships with their teammates, coaches, and supporters.

How can esports players improve their physical activity and health?

Esports players can improve their physical activity and health by following a balanced diet that provides them with adequate energy and nutrients for their esports performance and recovery, drinking enough water to stay hydrated and prevent fatigue and cognitive impairment, getting enough sleep to restore their physical and mental functions and enhance their memory and learning abilities, avoiding excessive use of caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, or other substances that may impair their health and performance, and engaging in regular exercise that improves their cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance.

How can esports players cope with the social media impact?

Social media can help esports players connect with their fans, peers, and supporters, as well as express their emotions, opinions, and achievements. However, social media can also have some negative effects on individuals, such as disrupting their sleep quality, triggering social comparison, exposing them to criticism and harassment, and distracting them from their personal goals. Therefore, gamers need to manage their social media use in a way that maximizes the benefits and minimizes the risks. They can do this by setting boundaries and limits on when and how much they use social media, choosing the platforms and content that are most relevant and positive for them, seeking feedback and support from trusted sources, developing a positive self-image and self-esteem, and using social media as a source of inspiration and motivation.

What is your education?

All of our AEPs have a university degree in sport and exercise psychology, with most of us having completed at least four years of study at Halmstad University. In addition, we all have experience and expertise in esports and gaming. This combination makes us unique and qualified to provide esport counseling.

Is what we discuss during counseling sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is one of our core values as AEPs. We respect your privacy and trust, and we do not disclose anything you or your team share with us during counseling sessions. However, as part of our professional practice, we may sometimes consult with other AEPs in our team to provide you with the best possible service and support. We do this only with your consent and without revealing any personal details or sensitive information about you or your case. We also work in pairs when we work with teams, so that we can offer you more perspectives and insights.

From where are your services provided?

We are based in Sweden, but we offer our services online, so we can work with you wherever you are. In fact, we have worked with top teams and players from all around the globe, across various esports titles and genres, such as League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Fortnite, and more. So we have the experience and expertise to help you achieve your esports goals, no matter what game you play. We are very flexible and adaptable to your needs and preferences.
